Senior Pastor
Alan
McAlister

Alan McAlister grew up in New Mexico and graduated from
Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM. While in
college, he met his wife Peggy who is from Hobbs, NM. They
lived and worked in Clovis NM, before relocating to North
Carolina, where Alan was an executive with Sun Oil Company's
Marketing Division prior to surrendering to God's
call to Ministry in 1983.
Alan earned his Master of Divinity from
Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN. In
1986 he started Central Baptist Church in Henderson, NC with
25 members. The membership grew to over 750 prior to his
accepting the call to pastor Central Baptist Church here in
Clovis, NM. in 2006.
Teaching and Preaching God's
Word in a way that glorifies God and is applicable to life is
Pastor Alan's priority. He enjoys ministering to people.
Mission Ministry is also a passion for him. He has served on
various denominational committees and as an adjunctive
professor at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Pastor Alan and his wife Peggy have two
children, Brad of NC and Rebekah of Clovis.

Derek Osburn

Derek has
been in ministry at Central Baptist Church since July 26,
1998. He recently moved from the
student ministry into the position of Associate Pastor. Derek
currently leads the Saturday night
service, CONNECT and also heads up the outreach and
assimilation ministries for Central.
Goal:
To connect our culture to the compassion of Christ
through innovative and creative avenues in ministry.

Scott Henry

After
spending 10 years in serving churches in Texas and Louisiana,
Scott Henry readily
accepted God’s call to come back to his home state of New
Mexico. Since growing up in Roswell, Scott has served in
part time and full time positions in churches since his
freshman year of college.
He has served in youth, music,
single adult and missions ministries throughout the past 24
years. After attending Baylor University and Eastern New
Mexico University, Scott eventually went to Southwestern
Baptist Theological Seminary, finishing music degree in 2003.
His passion is for people to understand that worship goes far
beyond the one hour a week spent in the sanctuary.

Hicks

Tyler
Hicks grew up in Denver City, TX and graduated from
Texas Tech University in
Lubbock, TX. He then attended Seminary at
Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary and The Southern Baptist
Theological Seminary and
earned his Masters of Divinity. Tyler has been a part
of ministry at Central
Baptist Church since July 17, 2007. He serves as the
pastor to junior high and
high school students and teaches each Wednesday night
at Fuel.
Goal: To fuel student’s passion for the glory of God,
assist them in knowing and
worshiping Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and equip
them to connect cultures to
the compassion of Christ.

Lenie Vernon
Lenie (Ilene)
Vernon serves as the Student Ministry Assistant.
She joined Central's staff in the fall of 2007 after
volunteering in the youth ministry for the past six
years. She assists Tyler in planning, coordinating and
developing the many youth activities that occur during
the year. Her passion is to see young girls grow in
their faith and become Godly women.

Lenie is originally from Oregon and that is where she
met Steve, her husband of 25 years. They spent eleven
years in Kansas City and the past seven years in
Clovis, where they have actively served at Central
since relocating here.
They have two sons. Geoff and his wife Amy reside in
Houston, while Tim lives in Lubbock, attending school
at South Plains.
She enjoys people, family gatherings, outside
activities and snuggling up with a good book every now
and then. |

Ministries Pastor
Chuck Tipton

Chuck Tipton serves as
Children’s Ministry Pastor. He oversees the activities,
education and spiritual development of kids K-6th.The children's ministry also known as
"KidCentral", is an active, fun way to learn about the things of God. Their mission at KidCentral
is to. . ." produce Christians ready
to serve in the Kingdom."
They do this by three strategies.
Love, Laughter, and Lesson.
In that order. Chuck also helps with
visual and audio media and any creative activities the church
has. He is married to Suzanne Cotton
of Orangefield, TX and they have two children, Andrew and
Savannah.

Ross
Dick
Ross
is originally from Arkansas and grew up
in Albuquerque. After graduating from High School, he
attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM
and while at Eastern he met his wife, Norma, who is
from Logan, NM.
Dick
earned his Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern
Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas.
He has been a pastor in churches in New Mexico,
Northern California, and Washington State. In
1982 the Ross family moved to Clovis where he became
the Director of Missions for what is now Eastern
Baptist Association.
Dick
also, works as a Regional Coordinator for BCNM
Disaster Relief and is on NAMB National ICS Team.
He has served with the NM State Health Dept. CISM Team
for nearly 20 yrs., serves as a Chaplain for the
Clovis Fire and Police Depts. and as a Chaplain at
Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
Dick and
Norma have four children, four grandchildren with
grandbaby number five due the first of August.
After
serving as an Intentional Interim Pastor in Portales,
Dick joined the staff at Central as Interim Associate
Pastor. His responsibilities include Median
Adult and Senior Adult Sunday School, Sunday School
T.E.A.M.S. program, Senior Adult Ministry, Pastoral
Care, and “other responsibilities as assigned.”

Jennifer Hollis
Jennifer Hollis
has worked in
Christian Education for more than 12 years. Jennifer earned a
B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Eastern New Mexico
University and began work at
Central Baptist Church as preschool/children's coordinator.
Three years later, she joined the faculty of Clovis Christian
School as Elementary Principal. After nine years at CCS, she
re-joins Central Baptist Church in the preschool ministry. "It
feels like I have returned home. Preschool is the very
foundation for future faith." She is currently completing a
Masters degree in Faith Based Administration from California
Baptist University.
Jennifer is
married to Rick Hollis. They have two sons Brandon and Nathan.
They will celebrate 28 years of marriage this summer.

Manager / Financial Secretary
Doris
Wickham

Doris Wickham came to work at CBC in 1997 as the Financial Secretary after
20 years in banking. After working
six years as financial secretary,
she left to go back to banking. Eighteen
months later Doris returned to CBC as Financial Secretary
which now includes Office Manager. Doris feels that her work
here is a ministry which she enjoys doing.
She and her husband, Jerry Wickham,
recently celebrated their 40th wedding
anniversary. They have two married sons, Dwyer & Christina,
Ryan & Crystal, with 5 terrific grandchildren.

Food Service Director
Susie Wooten

Susie
and her husband, David, along with their two children, Leslie
and Jared, moved to Clovis in 1978. They joined Central
Baptist Church shortly thereafter
and have been serving along with their church family for the
past 28 years.
In1989, Susie
received a degree in Health and Fitness and began teaching at
Clovis Community College. She continues to teach part-time at
the college and enjoys helping people maintain a healthy
lifestyle.
In 1992,
Susie began filling in for Mrs. Poe, who had been Central’s
cook for over 40 years. She continued to fill in on a
voluntary basis even after the church moved into its new
location in 1993. In 1998, she was asked to become the Food
Service Director and joyfully accepted. “I considered it an
honor and a privilege to work in the Food Service Ministry to
meet both physical and spiritual needs. I have watched the
Food Service Ministry grow ten-fold since accepting the
position. My prayer is that God continues to bless this
ministry as we seek His will.”
